they’re still alive.

The world’s first virtual hip hop group, The Gorillaz, just released their 3rd studio album and first album in 5 years, Plastic Beach. It’s a poppy, glitchy, groovy and booty droppin’-friendly piece of work, and a new shop favorite! It’s also one of the most diverse album I’ve heard in a while – mostly due to the expanded group of collaborators on it. Almost every track features a different rapper, singer, bass quartet, orchestra … you get the gist. Each artist is down for what this album is all about, poking fun at consumerism and eco-related topics such as plastic litter on a beach.

maestro knows season 2 mixtape.

The amount of good music that’s been rolling through lately has been crazy. All sorts of goodness dropping left and right it seems. Maestro and DJ SOURMILK just released the second mixtape following the completion of the second season of Maestro Knows. The first tape was hot and the 2nd is definitely no disappointment. Download it HERE.

tailgate essentials

Opening day is one week away and for most of us here it can’t come soon enough. The first part of our MODA3 tailgate t-shirt pack arrived this weekend with some ideas of what should be on the menu, sausage! The collection includes bratwurst, chorizo, hot dog and Italian sausages. Yet to show up is the Polish. Maybe that is going to be the hot new sausage of choice in the Miller Park parking lot?

You can never go wrong with the classic retro Brew Crew colorway.

Stop in or log on to scoop your size. These shirts don’t stay around long and once they’re gone, they’re gone!
Stay tuned to complete your tailgate. Suds, sodies and condiments are on deck to complete the collection.

milwaukee weekend hip haps.

I’m back with your weekend line-up of sweaty dance parties, pub crawls, and skate contests. Read on!

Tonight is the monthly installment of Rubbin’ N Bumpin’. This 18+ dance party at The Miramar Theatre brings in local and national talent. Featured tonight is the historic Madison Discotech dance party creator and oh so glitchy OCD AUTOMATIC, out of Chicago. Additional performances by The Glamour and DoubleDrop, both reppin’ brew city.

Also tonight playing at the historic Turner Hall is Black Rebel Motorcyle Club. This band is one of the most recent additions to my iPod and I’m super excited that they’re in town. I got hooked on their latest Beat The Devil’s Tattoo.

put your play cloths on.

Spring Delivery 2 from Play Cloths is in the building, but it’s leaving as fast as it showed up. So make sure not to sleep on any of this, otherwise you’ll be disappointed.

Let’s start with the bangers. The Sports Pack is so official. If you’re hooping, hitting the links, or just hustlin’, then the Play Cloths wrist bands and towel are for you. We also have the Amari Holster, which is sure to keep your iPhone looking extra fly.

Their cut-n-sew pieces always stop the show.

from the westside with love.

Dom Kennedy, one of our favorites to play in the shop, just dropped his new album. It was supposed to drop around 7 o’clock last night but didn’t end up dropping till 45 minutes later. You can be assured that it was the longest 45 minutes of my life. Just download it HERE and enjoy some quality Los Angeles hip hop. Make sure you download his other albums too.

stpl.

I would like to introduce to you Staple Design out of NYC, a new brand to the shop but a veteran in the streetwear world. Jeff Staple, the brains of the operation, really needs no introduction. He’s an entrepreneur, store owner, clothing and product designer, blogasaurus, and all around streetwear guru. He’s developed an empire of creative work and STPL colabs that will blow your mind; Nike, Kid Robot, New Era, Jason Markk, and Common… just to name a few.

The official bird of the NYC streets, The Pigeon, has evolved into the Staple logo.
