milwaukee weekend hip haps.

The Milwaukee Art Museum has been throwing a party every couple of friday nights showcasing exhibits, music, and food. Tonight is another edition of MAM After Dark: The Future is Now. I’ve been to a few of these and they have only been getting better. Head to the Milwaukee Art Museum tonight to scope The Andy Warhol Exhibit, make some buttons, and get down with DJ Madhatter.

Tonight is also the 1 year anniversary of DJ E Rich’s Friday night party at Jackalope Lounge. P Cool is all over this event because it covers all his Milwaukee favorites: E Rich, Jackalope Lounge, and the #15 bus. Drink specials and guest appearance by Kid Cut Up. This should be a good time.

Tomorrow night at Turner Hall Peaches will be performing. This Berlin native is makes the silliest electro music that’s far from PG.  I’m not kidding, don’t take your kids to this show. Her jams are a bit out there, but what I find really cool is that she plays her own instruments, sings her own songs, makes her own beats, and produces her own albums. That’s awesome.

Have a great weekend!

vans “off the ceiling.”

Here’s the first installment of our brand new Vans display. It should be done sometime in the spring. Nick’s pondering how he can get one of those for his crib.

the terrace rail jam.

Our good friends in Madison, the Hoofers are putting on their first annual Rail Jam. The night promises to be a good time with some of the area’s top riders slated to be there. If you are in the Madison area on Thursday I recommend adding this to your agenda. Check out the flyer for event details and for any other information you can go to their website here.

Their rail setup is no slouch either.

milwaukee weekend hip haps.

The electro rock trio from Chicago, Future Rock, will be performing at The Miramar Theatre tonight. These dudes use synthesizers which translates into a silly dance party. Should be fun.

Saturday afternoon the second annual Cranksgiving food drive is happenin’ in Riverwest. This is an alley-cat bike race with checkpoints where you drop off non-perishable food items donated to less fortunate families on Thanksgiving. You should probably go even if you’re not racing. Drink-age provided by Horny Goat Beer and the dance party is provided by The Glamour and Double Drop. Grab your fixie and show some support!

this is no laughing matter.

MODA3 is the proud carrier of Milwaukee-rooted album ALL JOKES ASIDE brought to you by the infamous duo Haz Solo and Dylan Thomas. We’ve given ourselves a good week to really soak in and appreciate the creativity and silliness put into this album. I’m not too hip on writing reviews but I’ll go ahead and say that I’m a huge fan if there are tracks with either lyrics you can relate to or beats you can dance to; this album’s fully stacked.

This album features local Prophetic from Umbrella Music Group and Dana Coppa who raps on my favorite track “Wonder Woman.” If you don’t pick it up from us you can and scoop ALL JOKES ASIDE here! Support local hip hop.

Check out the promo video these two clowns put out a few months ago.
